I worked Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday then drove back to the airport on Wednesday afternoon. The cool thing about my driving this time was that my rental car was a Toyta Prius Hybrid. When I first got in the car I had no idea how to work it.
You don't turn the key on, you just plug it into a hole and then press the "power" button on the dash. You don't hear an engine start because it starts off using the electric motor and battery. Very quiet!
Take a look at the dash (click on the photo below so you can take a closer look.) Notice the small joy stick on the dash? That is the gear shift.
I really enjoyed the experience of driving the hybrid and I got up to 99.9 miles to the gallon (so the consumption meter said.)
Once I arrived at the airport and checked in at the gate, I noticed something odd. When the plane tried to pull in to our gate (19) at Dulles, there was a Coors Light beer truck parked in it's way. They paged the driver - no luck. The ground crew from American Airlines tried to move the truck but couldn't get the brakes off. Finally they taxied the MD80 airplane around the terminal to gate 24 and all the passengers moved over to 24. I was just a bit nervous thinking this was really suspicious until the truck driver appeared and drove the 18 wheeler away.
So, my flight was delayed by what? A Coors Light beer truck!
As our flight approached DFW, the pilot had to manuever around several thunderstorms that had just moved into the area. This photo is just one of them!
I sure was glad to see Joan! I missed her!!!

That's a very odd flight delay!
I like the pic you too in the rearview mirror!
Marcia has a prius. Kinda neat on the inside :)
Congratulations on figuring out how to drive that Prius. It really looks weird. The Coors truck would have been of concern to me, also - terrorist? Thankful that you got home safely in spite of the delays and the thunderstorms.
So, How DID you take that picture of yourself in the car? Was it moving while you did that? Why didn't you smile? :-)
I took the photo in the rear view mirror by holding the camera right up against it so I could see the lens. But as I snapped the photo I was looking down the road driving. I guess I don't normally smile while I'm driving by myself. I save my smiles until I pass somebody driving the other direction.
