Time Alone with Barrett

Barrett took his nap at our house on Labor Day.  Mike, Staci, and Brody went to their house and when Barrett woke up the first thing he said was he wanted to ride his 4 wheeler in the back yard.  Once we got outside he decided he wanted to play basketball first.  Joan and I really enjoyed watching him try hard to dribble the basketball and then make shot after shot in the goal.

Barrett was really having fun and kept trying to make shots even when the goal was too high for him.  He gave it his all and made a "jump" shot but he came down on his back instead of on his feet.  He bumped his head on he ground and started to cry.  Joan and I jumped up and comforted him then I lowered the height of the goal.
Barrett made a goal and then turned to us and said "I'm o.k.".  It was a little cooler today and we enjoyed sitting under the trees and watching Barrett have fun.

Barrett finally remembered about the 4 wheeler and he drove slowly around the back yard.
Barrett was having so much fun he started leaning backwards and then he noticed the clouds...

It was funny seeing Barrett drive his 4 wheeler around lying down on it looking up at the sky
It is so much fun living close to our grandkids!  Sharing simple moments like this are possible quite often and it blesses our lives!

Barrett is such a sweet little boy. Grandparenting is so much easier when it is one at a time...you can give them more attention.
