Here are a few special memories that just popped up today...
1. 4th grade - My Dad joined our punting competition on 7th street. The neighborhood kids and I were really impressed when Dad kicked the football higher than the pecan trees that lined the street and all the way down to the end of the block. I still play football on Sundays with my sons.
2. 10th grade - "Seeing" Joan for the first time at church and being smitten with her beautiful long brown hair and green eyes.
3. 30's - Steve Luebbe helping me train for my first marathon at Dallas White Rock and Wayne Bryant driving over to see me finish - and Joan thinking I died somewhere on the marathon route because I told her I would probably finish in 3 hours and it took me 5. (I trained harder for the next marathon!)
4. 30's - My manager at TDC, friend, and brother in Christ - Randy Rabeck teaching me how to be a servant leader by his daily actions on the job. One night our whole department was working late and we brought dinner in to the conference room. We all sat down to eat and Randy jumped up and began pouring tea for everyone. It was a simple act but to see our boss serving his employees made me stop and realize Randy truly was a servant leader.
5. 20's - My manager at GM's Credit Union and sister in Christ,Lee Akey, teaching me how to treat credit union members with a servant attitude.
6. Late 30's - Working with Jimmy Sites, our youth minister, who showed us how to be innovative and courageous in the work of the Lord. See what Jimmy is doing now at http://www.spiritualoutdooradventures.org
7. When the kids were young - Taking Joan, Staci, Caleb, and Tyler up on the roof to watch the sun set and then laying on the roof to watch the stars come out.
8. When I'm down - hearing my Mom's laughter and my mood brightens and then finding out what she is cooking for us and becoming ecstatic!
Just a few random memories that popped up during business travel. So many wonderful memories because I have so many great people in my life!

Great memories! I had to laugh about Mom thinking you'd died somewhere along the marathon route b/c it took 5 hrs to finish. I felt like I was dying when it took me 5 hours to finish! lol
