Cattails at the Outpost

I went on the Junior High youth retreat as a sponsor/speaker this weekend. We chose a different retreat site this time - Riverbend Retreat Center (http://www.riverbendretreat.org/about/aboutus.php) The decor of the retreat center is rustic cedar with native stone and includes facilities for 702 persons. We chose the Outpost Camp with log barracks, log meeting rooms, and 3 covered wagons with 12 bunks each. Other facilites include a chapel, dining hall, a recreation building, swimming pool, 3-acre pond, amphitheater, and various other recreational facilities. It was a great place to have a retreat.

During our solo time where the kids spend 30 minutes alone reading the Bible outside, Conner found himself in the middle of a bunch of cattails. Soon after solo time, we had a blizzard of Cattail seeds flying around the camp with kids playing all in it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:IMG_1077.JPG Read about cattails at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typha.

We had a great retreat and it's now time for 24 to come on! Gotta go!

I looked at the retreat website...looks like a cool place! Looks like there's lots to do. Were the surroundings pretty?
